We are pleased to announce our newest team member, Pilot, Michel Poppen!  Michel, his wife Laurie and their pup, Nanuk moved down from Oregon to sunny California earlier this month!  We are thrilled to welcome them to the Orbic family!

For the 3rd year in a row, Orbic Air and Pictorvision have provided the aerial coverage for the preseason NBA game in the desert. The Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks kick off the season in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Yes the arena is outdoors…It’s a perfect time of year in the desert. The temperature was about 90 degrees, and clear skies. Helicopter Pilot, David Child, and Cineflex Operator, Jake Capistron made the journey out to Palm Springs the morning of the game, and spent the evening in the skies above the tennis garden.

Big thanks to Karl and all the great folks at Skydive Elsinore for treating Orbic Air so well this past weekend. Orbic flew out on Saturday night in the Robinson R44 helicopter and enjoyed a great party and barbecue. Sunday was all about the skydiving! We started at 8:00 a.m. and flew nonstop all day, dropping three jumpers at a time from the Robinson R44 helicopter at 5200 feet. In addition to the helicopter they had two jump planes dropping simultaneously. It was a great time. Huge thank you to Merlinda Salas, one of our up and coming flight students, for flying out with me and handling the ground duties, super job, couldn’t have done it without her. See you all again next year!!!
